Cornhole is a traditional backyard game that is simple to learn and enjoyable for people of all ages to play.

The Basics of Cornhole
Cornhole boards are 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. They are set up 27 feet apart. Each board has a 6-inch hole in it. Players throw bags filled with corn (or something equally heavy) at the boards.
The bags themselves are about 6-7 inches square in size and weigh 15-16 ounces. Cornhole can be played as a singles match or in a team format, usually with two players per team.
Scoring Points in Cornhole
In the Hole (Cornhole)
A bag that passes through the hole scores three points.
On the Board (Woody)
A bag that falls on and stays on the board scores one point.
Off the Board
Any bag that lands on the ground or doesn’t stay on the board scores no points.
The Pitching Rotation
Each inning is comprised of four pitched balls from each player, with the players taking turns to throw. The team that starts the first inning is usually determined by a coin toss, and after that, the team that scored last in the previous round gets to start first in the new inning.
Players must pitch from the pitcher’s box – a space to the side of the board – and they cannot step past the front of the board while throwing.
Winning the Game
A team must obtain or surpass 21 points to emerge victorious at the conclusion of an inning. If it’s a tie at 21 points, the game goes on until one side manages to pull ahead at the end of an inning. Some versions of the game have you win by 2 points, though this is not a standard cornhole rules.
Fouls and Penalties
Foot Fouls
A player steps past the board’s front edge while throwing. This throw is canceled, and the bag is removed from the board.
Pitching Out of Turn
If a player throws out of turn, that throw is also canceled.
Time Limit
Players typically have 20 seconds per throw to maintain the game’s pace.
